Preventing Sexual Harassment

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine

Sexual harassment is a problem that causes clear and measurable harm, but there are solutions. Our job in this video was to synthesize the recommendations of the 312-page report and put them into a short video that advocates on campuses can use to push for reforms to reduce sexual harassment. With clear language and strong visuals, video is a much more approachable medium for scientific information and gives viewers the most essential information upfront.

We used a collage effect to mimic a naturalist aesthetic. It was important to us to not show any faces because sexual harassment is a product institutional cultures, not individual bad apples. After the video, the cover of the report was created to model after the style established!

This was the most watched video from the National Academies in 2018.
