A Boy Named Gavin

ACLU

This is a story about a boy named Gavin. Gavin Grimm had been fighting against a discriminatory bathroom policy that segregated transgender students from their peers. When ACLU commissioned this video, Gavin’s case was on its way to the Supreme Court.

We wanted to provide a way for others to engage with Gavin’s message and have a method of sharing it. We used the audio from when Gavin spoke at his local school board hearing and set it to animation with a documentary-style approach. We wanted people who agree with Gavin to agree loudly.
