Saving Giraffes: The Long Journey Home

National Geographic Society

It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. In this case, it’s “Saving Giraffes: The Long Journey Home”, National Geographic’s latest documentary.

The Nat Geo team contacted us to help tell the story of two Kenyan tribes coming together to save an endangered species of giraffe. Heavy rains spell disaster though, with flooding separating the herd. As the waters rise and threaten their hard work, ingenuity wins with locals finding a unique way to rescue these precious animals. Using a sophisticated color story, we help showcase the dangers, and triumphs, of this harrowing event.

One key character in this story is Ranger Mike. His bond with Asiwa, a marooned giraffe, pulls at the heartstrings. Our team put a lot of thought and care into bringing his personality and look into the animated world. Follow along as Mike helps these amazing creatures.
